What’s in a Name? By Dave Diehl
Shortly after we were married, the Lord gave me a song for my new wife, titled “Crown of Glory”. It was based on Prov. 12:4 that says a man’s wife is his crown, and the glory of a man is his wife (1 Cor. 11:7). This was particularly significant in Laura’s case, as her name literally means, “crowned with laurel” referring to the use of laurel leaves to crown victors in the Olympic Games in ancient Greece. Laura has always been and will always be my Crown of Glory.
Of course, at the time I didn’t realize how prophetic my nickname for her was; but as God continues to move her forward in her calling, it was obvious to me what the name of this ministry should be. Not only because of our little love story, but, more importantly, because of her heart - for children to know God intimately and to move in His call for their lives now! Our prayer is that the children touched by this ministry; either directly, or by the adults trained through it would truly “be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord” (Is. 62:3).
